Seven years ago, a group of men inspired by Richard Rohr’s Men’s Rites of Passage gathered in Essen, Germany. From this meeting, the EuroSoul community was born—grounded in deep relationships and a shared humanity that honors our differences. Since then, men from across the globe have joined this brotherhood without borders, gathering annually in different countries and online throughout the year.
This year, we extend a warm welcome to join us online, where we will sit in Council and share our stories. Together, we cultivate a vision of masculinity rooted in connection—to each other and to the wider world of plants, animals, and Creation itself.
Our time together will be centered on the four pillars of Council:
Speak from the heart: Say what is truly yours to share.
Listen from the heart: Commit to listening deeply, even if you disagree.
Be spontaneous: Speak without rehearsing, allowing deep presence with others.
Be lean of speech: Speak with purpose, letting only what is essential emerge.
Alongside Council, we will create space for solitude, journaling, stories, song, and silence.

This is an invitation to continue to connect beyond the stepping through of the threshold that is the Men’s Rites of Passage to explore the deep and rewarding pleasure that is “Awakening Brotherhood.”
We seem to be living in exceptionally difficult and challenging times, yet mankind has, in truth, always been faced with the need to make hard choices. We will reflect on Frank Scott's words written during WW2 but also influenced by WW1 and its aftermath. They are in the form of a poem, "Villanelle for Our Time," which was put to music by another Canadian, Leonard Cohen.
When we gather as "Brothers without Borders," we aim to stay close to a story of connection, compassion, and community.
Sharing our wisdom paths of ritual, image, story, and Council, we seek a better way of relating to each other and to our world.
