The Deep Masculine Journey 2027
A Call To The Depths
“… Seeking and surrendering to those mysterious and enigmatic fascinations that promise/threaten to devastate us in all the right ways, turn our lives upside down and inside out, plunge us into magic and rapture, and in the bargain, liberate us from whatever doldrums our everyday lives have marooned us in.”
—Bill Plotkin, Wild Mind
The Deep Masculine Journey (DMJ) is designed to help Illuman men experience what Bill Plotkin describes in the quote above. The DMJ is an advanced eight-month Illuman program to explore the depths of our deepest authenticity, purpose, and innate longing for the natural world. Drawing upon the work of Bill Plotkin, the Animas Valley Institute, Richard Rohr, Robert Bly, James Hollis, Marion Woodman, and others, the journey explores the True Self, shadow, wholeness, purpose, the Divine Feminine, and Sacred Masculine through nature-based spiritual practice.
From February through September 2027, participants will take part in monthly Virtual Councils and one-to-one mentoring. Practices also include dream tending, shadow work, grief work, self-designed ceremony, council, mirroring, and solo wanders in nature. The journey is built upon three keystone in-person immersions:
Self-Healing and Wholeness: April 19-24, 2027, Joshua Tree National Park
Shadow and Divine Feminine Work: July 10-14, 2027, Serendipity Camp, Conifer, Colorado
Vision Quest: September 22-30, 2027, Aravaipa Canyon Ranch
The Deep Masculine Journey is rigorous by design, and space is limited to 14 participants. If you sense that your journey is calling you toward deeper inner work, we invite you to learn more and consider applying.
Price: $2,800 (scholarships available)
